The Grand Opening Cruise was threatened by the weatherman, but 163 cars were brave enough to come out, and a great time was had until the rain at the very end just as we were trying to do the 50-50 draw.. | The Andy Eaton clan awarded the AE AutoPlus Plaque to Scott Neely of Newmarket. This 1972 Blue Ford Maverick Grabber was certainly an attention grabber. Scott purchased this car 3 years ago. Some major restoration had been done, but the steel body is all original. There was also some interior refinishing done. For all you performance buffs, here is what you need to know: Power is supplied by a 347 ci Stroker with AFR 202 Heads There is a 2200 stall speed (for drag racing) and a C-4 Tranny gets the power to the wheels. An 8 inch Ford rear end, with 355 gears and Positrak ensures that all the power gets to where it is needed very quickly. Tonight was a special night for one of our favourite, and long time sponsors, Tony Lant of Lant Insurance. Who else would you go to for classic car (and truck) insurance? Tonight was the first cruise night featuring "The Tony Award" Tony was here tonight to make the first presentation of this coveted trophy. In our picture, Tony (the one wearing the Lant Insurance hat), is presenting the trophy to Kostas Kalomiris of Markham. This gorgeous 1969 Nova SS sparkled in the limited sunshine we enjoyed on Victoria Day. The Lemans Blue paint captures and reflects the sun shine. This beauty was born in California. In 2009 Kostas purchased this dream car and brought it home to Canada. This is a California Black Plate Car, and has matching numbers 350 ci , 300 HP Turbo 350 Transmission.
